Customer Rating: Summary: THE SOAP BETTER BE LIQUID Comment: I have three of these units and with the same batteries in each the performance is based upon the liquidity of the soap solution.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good Product so far Comment: Been using this product for a few weeks and it is good. The only problem is that it dispenses too much soap. Wish there was a lower setting than the lowest they have now. But other than that it is the best dispenser I have seen so far.
Customer Rating: Summary: We LOVE them! Comment: I bought three of these a few weeks ago. Two for myself and one as a gift for a friend. We had/have no problems so far. I do notice, however, that the one in the bathroom dispenses a little less soap then the one in the kitchen, but i think it is because of the viscosity of the soap.
Customer Rating: Summary: This is my 2nd SimpleHuman Soap Dispenser. :) Comment: I so love these dispensers. I 1st bought one in July, 2008 for my kitchen. Because of the convenience and ease of use of the dispenser, I bought a 2nd one in October. They both work outstandingly well. I plan to buy 2 more for our guest bathroom.
FYI, I use "SoftSoap" in the one used for the bathroom and "Dawn" in the one used for the Kitchen.
These are the reasons why I like these automated soap dispensers:
1. They actually work.
2. They immediately dispense soap.
3. You can adjust how much soap is dispensed.
5. More sanitary to use in either the kitchen or bathroom.
6. Much easier to clean.
7. Much easier to refill than any of my old soap dispensers.
Just a word of warning, recommend you use a clear soap. If you're like me and have the "Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap" by "Bath and Body Works", recommend that you don't use that in this dispenser. I tried using that hand soap in this dispenser. The dispenser went from working 100% to maybe 1-5%. :( As soon as I placed "Softsoap" back in the dispenser, it began worked perfectly. This particular hand soap from "Bath and Body Works" has "cleansing beads", i.e particulate matter. I suspect that these "cleansing beads" probably interfere with the way the dispenser works.
Customer Rating: Summary: Works great after I fixed it! Comment: My Simple Human soap dispenser works beautifully now, but didn't function at all as received. My experience may explain why some have reported little or no soap is dispensed.
After installing batteries and filling the device with soap, I found that the pump would run when called upon to do so, but absolutely no soap was dispensed! I was ready to drive back to the store for a refund, but decided to take a gamble on being able to get it going and save a trip. As it turns out it was fairly easy to fix and it does really work very well now. In fact, even on the minimum setting it dispenses more than enough soap.
I did the following: I removed the soap and batteries, then took off the bottom of the dispenser (screws). This revealed the pump, which I removed by taking off the drive belt and the two screws that go through the pump. I found that the hole in the bottom of the clear plastic tank that lets soap into the pump was not fully formed. I broke out a very thin section of plastic where the hole should have been, re-assembled the dispenser and it has worked fine since. I suspect that one cavity of the mold for the tank is worn or broken and thus some of the dispensers let little or no soap enter the pump. Obviously, there is inadequate quality control in this manufacturing process.
