Editorial Reviews:

Meet Tali, Schuyler, and Kim. Best friends since college, each twenty-something (okay, almost thirty) has seen her share of career foils and romantic foibles in the world's greatest city, New York. Having been friends for more than a decade, they know that they all need a change. On Valentine's Day, they are each alone for one reason or another. At dinner together, the trio makes a pact. Within one year, each woman will change the thing that most challenges her.

For Tali, good Tali, whose boyfriend of five years just left her for a personal trainer, it will be to find romance -- or a fling -- in every foreign country she visits (and given her job as a secret shopper for high-end resorts, she goes to a lot of foreign countries). For Schuyler, a book editor, her goal is to get on the other side of the typewriter and write her own book -- much to the dismay of her boyfriend, who is a Very Public Figure. And for commitment-phobic, Daddy's little rich-girl, Kim (she can't hold a job, or a boyfriend, unless he's married and therefore erratic and unattainable) , her goal is to have an engagement ring and a house in Scarsdale.

Each woman starts the first day of the year of reckoning with the best of intentions -- which is exactly why the pact goes immediately, and exceptionally, awry.

Filled with the delicious insider details (of a celebrity-level (or celebrity-wannabe) lifestyle), Chasing Harry Winston brings listeners once again into the heart of an elite world, where friendships will be tested to the point of breaking.

Let the games begin.

Summary: Ehhhhh.....I enjoyed it
Comment: I wouldn't try to expect some profound literature with this book, so those who are so highly critical and negative should chill out with the hate because it's supposed to be a fun easy read with a simplistic plot. If you want the deep stuff, you're in the wrong genre. I think Weisberger wrote a fun novel and dived into thoughtful details that were very honest. Friends aren't always perfect and harmonious, nor do they all think/act/feel alike, so I appreciated the character differences that were spelled out throughout the book. If the girls acted and talked in the same way, it would be terribly ordinary and colorless. I don't indulge in chicklit much, but I liked this. Don't over analyze.

Summary: Sex and the City?
Comment: This is the first book I read by Lauren Weisberger and I thought it was pretty good. I was craving some chick-lit to get lost in for a while and this definitely hit the spot. The problem? I was annoyed the entire time because I felt like the characters were too much like Sex and the City with a few small tweaks. Clearly, Leigh = Carrie, Emmy = Charlotte and Adriana = Samantha. The story lines are good and the characters are relatable but it is obvious that the author has been watching too much Sex and the City!

Summary: Ignore Bad Reviews !! It's a great read !!!
Comment: One of the greatest and best written chick lit books I have ever read. Funny, witty and still full of sensitivity, it follows Leigh, Emmy and Adriana who despite having seemingly perfect relationships, all struggle against what they should or shouldn't be doing and reconciling what looks good to society and what feels right for them. Great read, highly recommended.

Summary: Very, very disappointing
Comment: I truly looked forward to this, having thoroughly enjoyed The Devil Wears Prada. This was incredibly weak. I think that it had the makings of a decent story, but every single story line needed to be fleshed out, and all of the parts that were skipped from chapter to chapter should have been included. She must have been under pressure to finish it, because this could not hold a candle to her previous work.

Summary: I really wanted to like this book, but...
Comment: It just never happened. I loved DWP so this was a major disappointment. The characters were shallow, annoying, and completely predictable. I don't recommend and will not rush to purchase any future titles by this author.
